The Winnipeg Airport Authority's impending design of a new terminal building (Airport to bare city's soul) points out the extreme urgency for Mayor Katz and city hall to immediately formulate its new transit plan.

Winnipeg International Airport is presently within short blocks of many rail lines that could and should be used for LRT.

The possibility that the new terminal building at the airport might be designed without an LRT link is beyond comprehension.

Mayor Katz should immediately form that promised Transit Task Force and inform the Airports Authority of the hope that the plan will include a rapid transit link, an absolute essential to a modern functioning city and a modern functioning airport.
